Week 3 Activity 2

My grandmother passed away when I was only 6 years old. Although I was very young, I still have so many amazing memories of her. She was the sweetest and most interesting person I’ve ever met. I still remember all the times we went sledding together and our phone calls. I really miss my grandma, but I know she is in a better place now. Rest in peace Nonnie. I was given permission to use this photo.IMG_4757

Week 3 Activity 3

I interviewed my dad to learn more about my grandpa. He passed away when my dad was only 17, so I never got the chance to know him. From what I’ve heard from my dad, he was an amazing person. My grandpa, Starling Jr, was a professor at a university. Before he taught, he was in World War 2! Sadly, there was bad radiation in the war which caused him to have leukemia when he was older. My dad is the youngest of four kids and the only boy. My grandpa desperately wanted a son, so when my dad was born he was overjoyed. My dad tells me that my grandpa would sit on the couch every night and just read the dictionary. I wish I could have met him because he seems like the most interesting person. Week 3 Activity 5

Edublogs has taught me how to properly post a picture online. I know now to always give credit to the photographer who took the photo or to the website where I found the picture. Also, it is important to get permission from the person I wish to post a picture of.

Week 3 Activity 6

Recently I visited the Museum of Contemporary Arts also known as MOCA. I had an amazing time studying the different paintings and sculptures. I also really enjoyed taking photographs of the paintings. This particular painting was my favorite. I added the translation widget so everyone can read this post.FullSizeRender (1)

About Me

Hello my name is Ella! I am a spontaneous and adventurous person who enjoys spending most of her time with family and friends. You will most likely find me outside no matter where or when. I love going to the beach and exploring new places. I also love to read and ride my bike, qualities I get from my dad. I have an older brother and sister who I’m very close with. Although they are much older than me, we always have the best times together.

Commenting

When commenting, it is very important to stay on task. Comments such as “wow”, “cool”, or “omg” do not give the writer any helpful feedback. Most of the comments I see are not thoughtful or meaningful. Comments allow the writer to fix their mistakes and learn more about writing. Never give away personal information such as your address, school or birthday. Also make sure all criticism is constructive and helpful.

My Comments

I commented on posts. I decided to comment on Daniela’s About Me blog because it was very unique and a creative idea. I was also curious on what type of poem it was. Next I commented on Emily’s About Me blog because she had a very short and informative post that was to the point. Then I commented on Tea’s About Me blog since it was so interesting and personal. Finally I commented on Lola’s About Me blog. It caught my eye since it was so funny and it rhymed. All of these girls had amazing blogs that I really enjoyed.

My Avatar

My avatar has dark brown hair, brown eyes, a laid back sense of style, and a dog next to it. This represents me because I don’t look much into fashion. I just wear what is comfortable and what makes me feel confident. Also I am an animal lover and hope to someday be able to work with animals. Online vs Real Life

My profile online is much different than how I actually act in real life. Although I come off as a confident and spontaneous person on my social media, I’m more awkward and scared to speak up in real life. Online it seems as if am always surrounded by friends at the beach and other adventurous areas. Sadly, that is not the truth. Realistically, I spend my nights reading and watching old Disney Channel shows on Netflix. Sometimes it is entertaining to have a different identity online, so I can come off as who I wish I could be. Online I am a different person compared to in real life.
